StraitsXTianwei Liu is the CEO and Co-founder of StraitsX, the stablecoin-native settlement layer powering global finance. With a background in software engineering, Tianwei has led StraitsX’s transformation from a payments company to a trusted infrastructure provider enabling compliant and programmable digital finance.Under his leadership, StraitsX became a first-mover in regulatory-first stablecoin infrastructure, with its stablecoins XSGD and XUSD recognised to be in early compliance with the MAS’s upcoming Single-Currency Stablecoin (SCS) framework.This positions StraitsX to enable institutions, fintechs, and Web3 platforms to transact with confidence in a new era of digital finance.Tianwei’s grounding in real-world systems design began in Silicon Valley, where he returned after graduation to work as a Software Engineer at WIMM Labs, a start-up that built the world’s first Android-based smartwatches. Together with his team at WIMM Labs, they laid the foundation for Google’s WearOSTM that powers its smartwatches (WIMM Labs was acquired by Google in late 2012).After WIMM Labs’ acquisition, Tianwei worked at Amazon Lab126 from May 2012 to June 2015, during which period, he and his team built the big data ingestion infrastructure that allows for real-time processing and analytics of the health status of all Kindle devices used daily by Amazon’s customers.Tianwei holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Engineering) in 2011 from the National University of Singapore. Tianwei also spent a year working in Silicon Valley while studying at Stanford University under the NUS Overseas College (NOC) Programme.
