MastercardMatthew is Executive Vice President and Head of Services for Mastercard in Asia Pacific. He is responsible for the development and management of Mastercard’s value added services and solutions portfolio across the region including Mastercard Advisors Consulting, Business & Market Insights (including Advanced Analytics & AI), Consumer Acquisition & Engagement, Open Banking and Cyber, Identity & Security Solutions.Matthew joined Mastercard in 2002 and has held roles of increasing seniority in London, New York and Singapore. These include chief client officer – Key Accounts (Purchase, NY), Head of Products and Solutions for Asia Pacific (Singapore) and president of Southeast Asia; General Manager of Global Accounts and VP of Account Management (London). Before joining Mastercard, Matthew enjoyed a career in consulting, financial services and analytics at American Express, WPP group companies and Westpac.A payments technology executive with extensive operating experience in all major payments markets around the world, Matthew has represented Mastercard at the World Economic Forum, the G20’s GPFI Plenary, the US ASEAN Business Council and has been a commentator on BBC Worldwide, Bloomberg, CNA, CNBC and MSNBC. An advocate for diversity and inclusion Matthew was recognized as the UN HeForShe executive leader of the year for Singapore in 2016, was a recipient of a Global Pioneer Award from NTUC Singapore in 2017. He was also recognized by the House of Rose in both 2020 and 2021 as a Global Male Champion for Gender Diversity.Born in New Zealand, Matthew is now a Singapore citizen and has MBAs from London Business School, and Columbia Business School in NY. He is also an alumni of the MAS sponsored Asian Financial Leaders Program (ALFP) as well as the INSEAD International Directors Program.
