Managing Director, Head of Domestic and Emerging Payments
HSBCLewis Sun has been appointed as Global Head of Domestic and Emerging Payments for Global Payments Solutions (‘GPS’) from May 2022. Mr. Sun has performed in various roles in China and Hong Kong and developed a notable career in GPS since he first joined HSBC in 2002. He was later seconded to Hong Kong as a Regional Sales Manager in 2005 before relocating back to China to lead the south China cash management business in 2008. Mr. Sun became Head of Sales for GPS in China in 2010. In this role, he succeeded in providing cash management solutions and advice to corporates across mainland China, leading the team with his thorough understanding of the market landscape, the dynamic environment and the challenges faced by corporates in China. After that, he was appointed as Head of GPS, HSBC China in February 2015. In August 2017, Mr. Sun was appointed as the Regional Head of Product for GPS based in Hong Kong. With his technical expertise and deep understanding of the market trends, he has played instrumental role in driving for the digital transformation and innovation to support the evolving needs from the clients. Mr. Sun holds a Master Degree in Electronics Engineering and an International MBA Degree from Tsinghua University, as well as a Certificate in International Cash Management from the Association of Corporate Treasurers in the UK.
