Vice President, Head of IP Networks, Asia Pacific
NokiaDrawing on more than 25 years of experience in the field of telecommunications and data networking, Kent Wong currently leads the IP Networks Asia Pacific of Nokia. In this role, Kent is responsible for end-to-end Nokia IP business in Asia Pacific, including business development, solution positioning, product management, consulting engineering, go-to-market and commercial strategy.Kent joined Nokia through the acquisition of Alcatel-Lucent, where he led the IP and Optical business for Asia Pacific since 2013. Before that, Kent also served in several leader’s roles for IP business and solutions within Alcatel-Lucent Asia Pacific region, including the head of IP Competence Center, IP business development for North Asia, senior IP product manager for Asia Pacific.Prior to Alcatel-Lucent, Kent held position in Research & Development (R&D) for the IP Service Router in TiMetra Networks, which was acquired by Alcatel in 2003. Kent also worked in various R&D roles for IP products at Nortel Networks before he joined TiMetra Networks.Kent has extensive knowledge and rich experience in IP Routing, Data Center Networking, IP Security, Network Automation and Analytics, as well as AI & Cloud in both the business and technology aspects. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and a MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
